Dear, my classmates.
Hi. How was your first week in this class?
In this week, we talked about trends related to the family.
The trends that interest me are Divorce, Birth rates, Births to Unmarried Women and Asian women are marrying at a later age.
Especially, I am really interested in the last trend as an Asian. haha
I think this is relative with economic factors. For example, there is a wide spread misunderstanding that people should have their own houses and cars before marriage. In my opinion, those people tend to avoid unprepared marriage like living without stable living status. So it contributes the trend. Is it same in America or another country? I want to know.
Also, we watched the video called Demographic Winter. It talked about the population growth. But I didn't get the concept of it exactly. So I need someone who can explain this in an easy way. I will really appreciate if someone does. Anyway after watching it, I though about having my children in the future, because I felt shocked with birth rates in the world.
As a convert, I had been afraid of having big families and many kids before I got baptized. Also I am from a small family which are four of us, including my parents, and a older sister. So I hadn't thought about having big families and seen them often during my life. In fact, I cared the economic factors for raising children a lot. But after watching the video, I realized that having kids is the holy privilege for human beings and how it is important.
I want you to learn a lot of things from these lesson we had in this week.
If you can help me understand through this blog, it would be best.
Have a good weekend!
From Casey
